Where has the time gone? We’ve been to Dreamland and back for album #3, and are excited about getting the Great Don Ellis on the go once again to help us put some finishing touches on it. If all goes as planned, we’ll be rolling around the country/continent this summer with some fresh new music in hand…keep an eye on this place for some previews soon.

Speaking of summer…we miss it. We’ve had just about enough of our annual January hibernation, and it’s time to shake off the cabin fever and play some music! And since the summer still seems so far away, we’re going to do our part to bring it back. On February 17th, we’ll be turning the Rock House into a full-on beach party – dress as you feel is appropriate. We’ve even got our favourite troubadour Mathias Kom breaking out his shorts and ukulele to sing us some songs to get the night going. $10 advance tickets on sale soon at the Sprout & the Ship..get them while they’re around.

New year, new tunes, new times, new…hey look, it’s a monkey eatin’ a hot dog!

So we have been out at Stagehouse (http://www.stagehousestudio.ca/) in St. Phillips for the past two weeks writing, reworking, and recording tunes for the new record. That’s right!! A new record. The band will be heading down to Dreamland in West Hurley, NY this week to meet up with Phil Burnett and get to work for 11 straight days. Eleven straight days in Dreamland (http://www.dreamlandrecording.com/) . That’s right, t’is the same studio where we recorded Keep Out.
We are all so excited. We leave Thursday morning to drive to Halifax, which if you unaware, takes us a day. First we have to drive 9-12 hours to the ferry in Port aux Basque, then we have a 5-7 hour ferry to North Sydney, then another 5-7 hours to drive to Halifax. Then we have another 15 hours to drive to get to Dreamland in West Hurley. So in total, to get to Dreamland we have to drive 2,337km there and back again. So 19 days and 4,674km later Idlers will have a new record. BOOM!

Yeah, we did it!
We finally got our first ECMA. Thanks all for the support!
That’s some grand news, wha. So other news, since Jan, I know we are slow with this, is that we finished a cross Canada tour, posted 2 new vides with new songs, got word that we are playing Evolve and Mariposa this summer and are working away on everything that is Idlers.
Things are on the up and up for Idlers. We’ll soon be announcing some new dates and things are in the works for a new music video for release this summer.

Ohhh, Newfoundland summers sure come short – is it technically fall now? Either way, we’re getting ready to start fall off right with a fun ol’ show at the Rock House on September 10th…let’s send this summer off in style. You won’t hear much from us for the fall after that, as we’re going to be settling in to work on album #3…more awesome, exciting details on that soon!
